From December 8–12, AfCAA’s Executive Director, Pauline Kamau, and Member Services Manager, Dr. Lucy Mugenyi, travelled to Uganda for the GTP Uganda Gathering. This event focused on strengthening stewardship across the EPSA network. AfCAA participated by teaching and engaging with attendees to promote accountability and highlight the importance of AfCAA accreditation.
Reflecting on her experience, Pauline quoted Ecclesiastes 4:9 (NIV): “Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor.” She emphasized how valuable partnerships with GTP are, showcasing the collective impact of shared efforts in achieving more together than any individual team could alone.
Dr. Lucy reinforced this message, noting the gathering’s strong call to action: “Stop what we were doing and set our house in order.” Participants recognized the urgent need to enhance stewardship and accountability within the Christian community, with AfCAA and GTP working in partnership towards this important goal.
Two main themes emerged from the gathering. First, Accountability: with teachings from the Bible, particularly from leaders like Titus, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Paul, highlighting the importance of structure and sustainability. Second, Accreditation: Pauline and Lucy introduced AfCAA’s accreditation framework, which generated interest from 69 potential candidates eager to pursue accreditation and receive advisory support.
