Strengthening Accountability in Uganda

Uganda Martyrs’ Seminary, Namugongo (UMS)

AfCAA is dedicated to raising accountability standards across Africa, and our efforts are yielding positive results. The Member Services Manager visited Uganda to conduct an on-site accreditation assessment for Uganda Martyrs’ Seminary, Namugongo (UMS). This initiative is in line with AfCAA’s mission to promote integrity, transparency, and biblical excellence within Christian institutions.

Uganda Martyrs’ Seminary, Namugongo (UMS), is a higher education institution established by the Anglican Church of Uganda’s Namirembe Diocese in 1976. It was founded in memory of the Christian Martyrs who were killed on June 3, 1886. The seminary offers theological training for ordination in the Anglican Church. In addition to training clergy, UMS also helps develop spiritual men and women in various other disciplines. The seminary is located at the Uganda Anglican Martyrs Shrine in Namugongo.

In June 2025, UMS officially became a member of AfCAA, and we celebrate this achievement. We are committed to supporting their growth and enhancing their systems.

Accreditation allows organizations to align with the Seven Biblical Standards, enabling them to operate more effectively. Join us in advancing accountability across African Christian organizations for the glory of Jesus Christ. Your support can make a significant difference and bring about positive change in Africa!
